MCTV Launches Eleva Tu Futuro, the First Spanish-Language Podcast, Produced in New Raptorcast Studio

The new podcast aims to reach people in their media spaces, as monthly podcast listenership has increased 52% among U.S. Latinos since 2020

Montgomery College Television (MCTV) announced today the launch of Eleva Tu Futuro, its first-ever Spanish-language podcast. This exciting new initiative showcases inspiring stories of individuals who have overcome challenges and achieved success in Montgomery County through their experience with Montgomery College.

Hosted by award-winning producer and Montgomery College alumna Carolina Galeano, Eleva Tu Futuro features interviews with immigrants, children of immigrants, and members of the Latino community who have elevated their futures through education, entrepreneurship, and community engagement.

“Latinos in Montgomery County have important stories to tell. These stories illuminate triumph over challenges, resilience through setbacks, and Montgomery College’s profound impact on individuals, families, and our community,” Galeano said.

Eleva Tu Futuro is produced in MCTV's newly established Raptorcast Studio, a state-of-the-art podcasting facility designed to support the creation of high-quality audio content. This launch demonstrates MCTV's commitment to innovation and dedication to serving the diverse needs and content preferences of county residents. This initiative also takes into account the rapid growth of podcast listenership among Latinos. According to The Infinite Dial report by Edison Research in 2023 monthly podcast listenership has increased 52% among U.S. Latinos compared to 14% in the general U.S. population since 2020.

“MCTV has been at the forefront of reaching underserved and diverse audiences,” said Scott Youngblood, managing producer at MCTV. “This podcast is us further evolving with our audiences, producing content that is meaningful, and authentic. It also directly aligns with Montgomery College’s federally designated Hispanic Serving Institution status, the first college in Maryland with this designation.”

Eleva Tu Futuro is available on major podcast platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, and YouTube.
